The Color Run Vancouver takes place at Pacific National Exhibition on September 24 with runners being released onto the course in waves beginning at 9 a.m. Each participant gets a 2016 participant kit, including a designer T-shirt, brightly colored headband, finisher medal, color packs, and temporary tattoos.

There are two rules at The Color Run 5K races—wear a white shirt at the starting line, and finish plastered in color. Participants of all fitness levels weave through a leisurely course as volunteers lob colored powder at them, crossing the finish line doused in a rainbow of hues. Following the dash, color runners gather at the Finish Festival to celebrate their achievement with music, dancing, and even more massive color throws.

This year the minds behind The Color Run aren’t just content to bring fun to every city they visit—they’re bringing “a 5K vacation.” The Tropicolor Tour puts an island spin on the race with scented color powders, inflated palm trees, a Rainbow Beach finish festival with sand and beach chairs, and, of course, colorful photo ops to brighten your day.
