Capelli Salon’s founder, David Martino, had wanted to open his own shop since childhood, when he diligently swept the floors of his cousin’s salon and dreamed of bigger things. It’s safe to say that styling is in Martino’s DNA; he’s the latest in a long line of hairdressers that can be traced back to Italy. It’s also safe to say that he inherited his ancestors’ precision, as clients routinely remark on his eye for color placement.

This same eye also helped Martino choose the venue for his salon. When he and his wife started looking for a space, they knew they wanted natural light and an open feel. Capelli Salon’s southwest exposure and 12-foot ceilings certainly fit the bill, making the environment bright, airy, and entirely unwelcoming to vampires.
