Named for the indigenous Quechua word for cured meat, Charqui Grill dishes out grilled veggies and meats bathed in a traditional allspice sauce. Meals kick off with grilled wings in said charqui sauce alongside poutine with charqui gravy, paving the way for meals matched with cocktails such as caipirinhas or mojitos. Entrees arrive fresh from the grill: burgers are made up of Alberta prime beef, and kebabs of beef, chicken, or Australian lamb melt in a mild, Trinidadian-style curry sauce. Patrons also can munch masala yam fries on an outdoor patio or lounge in a red-walled interior stocked with imported island breezes.
