Dynamo Fencing Club can accurately be called a comprehensive training facility. At any one time, its twenty Olympic-size fencing strips might be occupied by a beginner, a member of the Canadian national team, and athletes brandishing all three of the sport’s weapons—foil, epee, and saber.

Since the club opened in 1998, top-notch training at every level and facet of the sport has been the overriding objective. Beginners have a wide assortment of entry-level programs to choose from, and more advanced swordsmen can find plenty of skilled opponents with which to joust and feed each other chicken kebabs cooked on foils.

The club’s athletes have won medals in everything from provincial to international competitions, and the club’s founder, Victor Gantsevich, has coached the national teams of three different countries. He leads a team of coaches that include several national and world champions.
