The parade seems like any other parade through Downtown Vancouver upon first glance. There are marching bands, drill teams, and costumes. But upon closer look, you begin to spot some of this parade’s differences. There’s a Star Wars 501st Legion of Stormtroopers marching near a Korean traditional dance society, anime characters, and a 16-foot ghost train conducted by a skeleton ghost. It’s one half of the Vancouver Halloween Parade and Expo.
Because both the parade and expo are family-friendly, costumes can’t include gore, nudity, or anything that resembles tools at a dentist’s office.
