IKO-certified instructors take students to the mouth of the Squamish River for kiteboarding and riding instruction that begins with 40 minutes on land reviewing board and kite skills, including launching, body-dragging, and other techniques. Then, students acclimate to gliding on the water during one-hour riding lessons to instill proper body positioning, board starts, and power strokes necessary for proper kiteboarding takeoff.
